Pacific Relocation's take
Single, couple, or DINK relocations — start here.
The West End is Vancouver's densest, most walkable, and most diverse neighborhood. You can live without a car, walk to Stanley Park or English Bay every day, and have your pick of restaurants and groceries within four blocks. It's not ideal for families with school-age kids (the local schools are fine, not exceptional), but for the bulk of our singles, couples, and tech executives without kids, the West End is a quiet recommendation that consistently delivers.

Our advice
Before you sign a lease
- Many West End buildings are concrete high-rises from the 1960s–80s — confirm whether a seismic retrofit has been completed
- Parking is rare and not always included; budget $200–$300/mo for a private spot
- Several buildings have rental restrictions despite being older — confirm strata rules in writing
- Some 'furnished' listings cycle as short-term rentals — verify the long-term lease license is in good standing
