Pacific Relocation's take
If schools are the top priority, Point Grey is the conversation.
Point Grey is what happens when a neighborhood is built around two of the country's strongest public schools and an elite private one. Families who came to Vancouver for a UBC appointment, a Children's role, or a senior tech transfer tend to land here within their first year if they didn't start here. The streets are leafy and quiet — you give up some walkability for that — but the trade is generally accepted. We caution clients that single-family rentals are scarce and turnover is slow; a serious search needs 60–90 days.

Our advice
Before you sign a lease
- True single-family rentals are rare; most listings are basement suites or laneway houses — verify exclusive use
- Many laneway houses share utilities with the main house; ask how hydro is split
- Heritage character homes often have outdated electrical and plumbing — request a recent inspection report
- Some listings are owner's secondary residence; expect tighter pet and renovation restrictions
