North Renton is the original platted grid between the Cedar River and the Boeing flight line, and it is the part of the city we show clients who want to run errands on foot at a price Seattle no longer offers. Housing is mostly 1920s–1950s craftsman bungalows and a thin layer of newer apartments near The Landing, so the rental you get is heavily about which block — the leafy streets west of Logan are calmer than the arterials. We place a lot of Boeing engineers and trades here for the obvious reason: many walk or bike to the plant in under fifteen minutes. The trade-off is schools, which run middling across Renton, so families chasing top ratings usually look to Issaquah or Bellevue districts instead. Inventory is steady year-round and rents have been essentially flat, which makes this a calm, unhurried search rather than the spring scramble of the Eastside.

Our advice
Before you sign a lease
- Flight-path and run-up noise from the Boeing field is real on the western blocks — visit on a weekday morning before signing
- Many craftsman rentals predate modern wiring and insulation; ask about heat source and winter power bills, and check for knob-and-tube
- Some 'North Renton' listings are actually across the river in the Cedar River valley with a different walk profile — confirm the exact block
