Laurelhurst is the close-in eastside at its most established — Olmsted-planned curving streets, mature elms and Tudor-and-Craftsman mansions wrapped around a beloved Olmsted park. We place senior executives, physicians and returning-to-Portland families here who want gravitas and quiet without leaving the bike-commutable core. The rental stock is the catch: this is a buy-and-hold homeowner neighborhood, so leases are scarce and skew toward grand-home flats, carriage-house ADUs and the occasional whole-house rental — start 60 days out. Schools are solid-not-spectacular; families chasing top ratings still drift to Alameda or Lake Oswego, but most clients here value the walk-to park and 28th Avenue dinner strip more. Burnside and the park's south edge carry real traffic, so we steer clients to the interior curved blocks for the silence they came for.
