Pacific Relocation's take

The best transit value in Gresham, with a real community story.

Rockwood is where we place clients who want the lowest rents in the city and the best transit access — the MAX Blue Line and frequent bus lines mean you can genuinely live here without a car. It is the most diverse corner of the metro, and the Stark Street food corridor and Rockwood Market Hall are a real draw rather than a compromise. We are candid with families: the assigned public schools rate low, so this suits singles, couples and renters prioritizing budget and commute over school ratings. The neighborhood is mid-revitalization — new plaza, housing and small-business investment around the station — but blocks vary a lot, so micro-location matters and we tour specific buildings rather than the area in the abstract. Housing is overwhelmingly large garden-apartment complexes; expect pet weight caps and to verify which complex you are actually leasing in. For the right client this is the most house-for-your-money relocation we do in Gresham.

Our advice

Before you sign a lease

  • Quality varies sharply block to block — tour the specific building at different times of day, not just the model unit
  • Many large complexes enforce strict pet weight and breed caps plus monthly pet rent; confirm your dog qualifies in writing
  • Confirm exactly which complex and management company holds the lease, as several adjacent properties share similar names and very different upkeep
