Old Bend is the city's original residential core — the leafy blocks between downtown and Mirror Pond, where the 1910s–1920s Tudor and Craftsman homes along Riverside Boulevard are the most photographed houses in town. We place established professionals and downsizing couples here who want to walk to Wall Street's restaurants, Drake Park and the Tower Theatre without owning the lifestyle a westside hill demands. Inventory is genuinely scarce: this is owner-occupier territory, much of it generational, so whole-house rentals appear only a few times a year and lease within days — we keep standing alerts rather than waiting for a search window. The trade-offs are honest: lots are small, parking is on-street, and the blocks nearest Drake Park absorb event-day crowds and the occasional festival closure. The heritage stock is charming but old, so we push hard on mechanical and electrical disclosure before anyone signs. For walkability and character inside Bend, nothing else matches it.

Before you sign a lease
- Pre-1930 homes dominate — ask in writing about knob-and-tube wiring, foundation and sewer-line condition, and any decommissioned oil tank before signing
- Drake Park hosts festivals and summer events with road closures and crowds; ask which blocks are affected and view on an event weekend
- On-street parking only on many blocks, with winter snow-route restrictions — confirm where you can legally park year-round before committing
